5. #Neil Patrick Harris
If anything, Neil Patrick Harris is an amazing actor. During his role as the hilarious womanizer Barney in arguably one of the best TV comedies ever, How I Met Your Mother, no one ever would have suspected that he is gay. Although he came out after only one season of the show in 2006, a lot of women refused to believe it. He is now married to his longtime partner David Burtka, and has two children — fraternal twins Harper Grace and Gideon Scott.
6. #David Hyde Pierce
In spite of many years of speculation, David Hyde Pierce would not come out and admit that he is gay until his late 40s. In 2007, when he returned to theater acting, he publicly talked about his husband Brian Hargrove, whom he had been with since 1983.
“I had no idea I was even gay, even throughout high school, because there wasn’t really enough role models or cultural images for me to recognize what that even meant,” he said.
Pierce and Hargrove got married California, just days before the law banning all same-sex marriages in the state was adopted.
7. #Queen Latifah
Queen Latifah’s sexuality has been the focus of many rumors throughout the ages, but nobody could really tell whether she is certainly gay until she decided to come out in 2012. Her partner is Eboni Nichols, a professional choreographer and dancer.
In 2008, she told The New York Times, “I don’t have a problem discussing the topic of somebody being gay, but I do have a problem discussing my own personal life… I don’t care if people think I’m gay or not. Assume whatever you want. You do it anyway.”
8. #Wentworth Miller
The star of “Prison Break” denied being gay when questioned all the way back in 2007. However, in 2013, he finally came out and admitted that he was. More recently, he refused to attend the St. Petersburg International film festival in Russia because of Russia’s anti-gay stance. Miller is one of the few Hollywood celebrities who manages to keep his private life strictly under wraps. Because of that it is unknown if he’s currently dating anyone.
19. #Stephen Fry
Did you know that the famous British comedian and actor Stephen Fry had to do time after he was kicked out of school for stealing credit cards? His life took a turn for the better since those days and he actually ended up doing some great things, like recording the audio book for the Harry Potter series and acting in the movie V for Vendetta. Another awesome thing about this Emmy-winning documentarian is that he is openabout being gay, and has been married to his partner, Elliot Spencer since 2015.
20. #Jesse Tyler Ferguson
The Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson is gay both on-screen and off-screen. In 2012 he announced his engagement to his boyfriend of two years, Justin Mikita, and the couple got married in 2013 in New York City.
